Study Abroad Europe Programs

europe1 Study Abroad Europe ProgramsEurope is a continent of many contrasts. Home to a wide variety of beautiful countries and every climate you can imagine, it is a top location for students who want to travel for their education. When looking to study abroad, Europe should be a place to consider because there are simply so many different countries there with so many different things to offer. There is something for every type of student, from international law to culinary arts and everything in between.

Imagine walking cobblestone paths and viewing breathtaking architecture from ancient times, or learning how to cook real Italian food at a Tuscan villa. You could study international banking in Switzerland, or history in Prague. These are simply examples of what could be available to you. Another very popular reason students study abroad is to learn a language in order to teach it or become a translator. Studying language abroad is called immersion study, and is perhaps the best way to learn.

If you want to study abroad in Europe, speak with an advisor at your school who handles this issue. He or she can inform you of the available programs the university offers and which are recommended for your education and career goals. They can also help you with any financial aid or scholarship programs that are available to help with the cost of overseas study. There may also be grants for qualifying students who cannot afford to study in Europe without assistance.

Often when North American students travel to Europe for study programs, they stay at a University or college like dormitory with other students. There may be others from the United States who are taking the same program, they could be from your school or a school across the country from you. Studying abroad is a great way to not only learn about other cultures but to meet new friends you may keep in touch with for a lifetime.

The duration of study abroad Europe programs varies. There are full summer programs, semester programs and programs of other lengths available. No matter what you are majoring in at your university, there is most likely a study program in Europe that would enhance your education. Also, when future potential employers see that you studied abroad they may view you as a person with more ambition and world experience than other candidates who did not study abroad.

These homes incorporate an area for school and children and plants and animals to care for. I read about this years ago and now can’t remember . I think the name began with an "E" and was the first letter of the last name of the founder. Help!

I’d like to pursue a degree in international studies and languages, and am very interested in studying abroad. What colleges, particularly in New York state, offer the best study abroad programs?
PS: I am interested in Study Abroad programs that offer financial aid as well.

I’m not sure with colleges offer the best program. But there are programs not affliated with schools that you can still get school credit for. Such as Studiesabroad.com, which is the one I used this summer when I went to Costa Rica. If you have any more Qs, email me and I’ll be glad to answer them.

tafbutton blue16 What colleges offer the best study abroad programs?

Ive had the chance of going overseas a couple times and think it would be great to spend 12-18 months overseas in europe studying if you have had the chance to do this could you give me some ideas of how to get started, and what your experiences were…positive or negative

it was really great for me!! i did an exchange program for 2 years in norway and i loved it. it made me motivated and really showed me how to take in different situations. the only hard part was trying to learn the language better than i already did. after 6 monthes it was easier though.

ps. the only lesson i learned that is worth mentioning here is to eat as much stuff from the culture that’s surrounding you. you really learn how to be different and try new things because otherwise all you eat is nutella, bread and cereal.

A Brief Guide to American University Study Abroad

StudyAbroadHomePage A Brief Guide to American University Study AbroadAmerican University in Washington DC offers a wide variety of international study opportunities for their students. This renowned learning institution is one of the leaders when it comes to providing students with programs that stretch their knowledge and help them grow as individuals. There is something for every major, which is the first thing you need to investigate. You will need to choose a program that fits your major and is ensured to give you proper academic credit.

Just a handful of countries that you can travel to for study in a wide variety of areas include China, Australia, France, Italy, Germany, Ireland, Korea, Scotland and many, many others. Some of the majors that offer these programs include art, anthropology, biochemistry, communications, justice, psychology and various others. There are also language learning programs for French, Spanish and Arabic. Usually referred to as immersion programs, the student places themselves in the country where the language is spoken.

Immersion language programs help students learn more quickly. They become fluent not just through classroom learning, but through everyday, real world situations. By being surrounded by others who speak the language, and needing to communicate effectively with them, a student can gain fluency faster than they would otherwise. And this is all while enjoying the sights, sounds and other great things about travelling to a foreign land. It’s not all work, students do get opportunities to explore the area in which they are staying and time to do whatever they prefer. This might be shopping, relaxing at a cafe, hiking or enjoying the night life.

American University study abroad programs are well renowned as is the university itself. No matter what you are studying or where you want to go, this higher education institution can get you to the right place. Of course there are preparations to complete, for example you must apply and be approved for study abroad programs. If you are unable to pay for a program, there may be financial assistance available from the government, scholarship programs or private funding sources. And, there is the matter of travel documents, travel and health insurance, and other legalities. Speaking with the study abroad advisor at the University can help a great deal, because they have ample experience helping students reach their goals in this area and can help students and parents through the process from start to finish.

Study abroad?

Does anyone know of any study abroad programs in Brazille? I have to admit it isn’t so much for the education aspect as it is from martial arts. I know it is not necessary to study Brazillian Jui Jitsu in Brazille but I think it would be an amazing experience. Are there any martial arts associations who arrange this type of thing? Thanks.

I think your best bet is to look online at maybe the universities in Brazil, some of the larger ones may have some sort of martial arts programs like bigger universities in the US do, then you can do like a direct exchange program.

If you go through a place like ISA or USAC, the majoritiy of the programs you will find will be Portugese language intensive programs.

It’s possible to do a study abroad program, take like 2 classes and in your free time work on martial arts. I don’t know if you’re trying to get college credit for this or not, but if not, my suggestion is to find a martial arts place in Brazil you like, email the people who run it and explain your situation and they could most likely help you find a job and a place to live, opr suggest some places.

You can always try www.craigslist.com and look for stuff in Brazil, whether it be an apartment, job, or even a martial arts place.
