tafbutton blue16 How do you get a job as an overseas nurse in the Middle East?

Hi, I’m living in Australia and I really want to study overseas. I’m in high school at the moment, I was wondering if anyone had a website they could post me that could give me any details. I’ve been looking around google but I haven’t found one that really offers any programs.

Also, how do I convince my parents to let me go? They don’t even know that I want to.

Hi there!
I’m going to Japan for my sophomore year with AFS.
If you’re looking to go abroad during high school, there’s lots of programs you could go with. The most reliable being AFS, YFU, ASSE, and Rotary. AFS, YFU, and ASSE tend to be a little expensive, but they offer many scholarships and financial aid. They’re probably the programs to go with if you’ve got your mind set on a country, since most students get their first choice. Rotary, on the other hand, is a bit different. It’s much more affordable, but you switch host families every few months and students don’t usually get their first choice of country. It’s a great organization if you’re more open to surprises. I’m not sure for what year you’re applying, but most programs say that you should apply about a year before the start of your exchange.

Now, about convincing your parents, it really depends. I don’t know your parents, so I don’t know what would work best with them, but here are some suggestions:

-Make a presentation about why you want to go on exchange
-Write a letter/email to them about why you want to go on exchange
-Or, just blurt it out at a random moment, like, "Mum and Dad, I’ve been thinking, and I really want to study abroad…"

I listed the organization sites in my sources.

Hope all goes well! icon smile Im looking at studying overseas, can anyone give me details?

I’m planning to be a registered nurse outside. And are there institutions where nurses can go further of being a doctor or any specialists. Something like that. I am also planning to take architecture after nursing and study abroad. Would it be possible that ny performances of subjects in our country would be credited?

you have to check with an advisor of the university u’r applyig for. some university can waive some courses depending on the course itself, the university rank/r department rank in which the course has been studied/ and the grade which yu have earned in hat course.

Best luck icon wink Can I study abroad if I have finish a course in our country?

Studying on a foreign soil, i.e study abroad is indeed a dream of many a students in here. But before considering the thought of studying abroad you must always encounter yourself with some questions regarding the study abroad country, its local cultures, if you can and surely will adapt to its cultural, climatic, professional environment. Because of the cost of education, tuition fees, expenses to bear and the difference in various prospect many a students shy away from carrying forward their dream of higher studies in foreign shores. Even if they  clear confusions regarding these topics more confusion creeps in as which country to choose, kind of program like voluntary, internship, summer, language, semester etc .

Among the most popular study abroad Countries are  study in UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Germany, Singapore, Switzerland Now if we start discussing about the merits and demerits of each city or country most probably I will finish up by the end of the current fiscal year.
There are various study abroad programs in UK, Canada, and Malaysia which offer scholarship for various programs. So being prepared ahead of applying will surely help the concerned student.

Overseas study abroad universities also provide accredited high quality academics, great program value, all-inclusive programs covering air-fares, meals, hostel facilities and much more.
Various study abroad colleges all over the world provide vast opportunities to be explored if you wish to be a part of it. Studying abroad is in itself a rich experience, a once in a lifetime opportunity. You could be granted the country’s citizenship and you would be a proud dual country citizen and a NRI and would be given more than enough opportunities in your own country if you wish to return. But the problem with student studying abroad is that, the students are often so engrossed in the country’s cultural and professional culture that they refuse to return to their own country resulting in BRAIN-DRAIN.

Some intensive training programs are offered in New York City, Dublin, and Paris. In New York City, students may study drama, dramatic writing, media, journalism, filmmaking, advanced genetics, research in particular field or photography.
Each program is an outgrowth of the professional training thus students are immersed in an enriching experience and gain a better understanding of the nature of a professional training program. On-site works, internships, part-time jobs and field trips represent the diverse cultural traditions in each university and encourage students to expand their creative expression.

Regardless of your motivation for moving your nursing career overseas, you will have many of the same questions as others who want to nurse abroad. Here are the answers to three of the questions that I am asked most frequently…

Where can I get a nursing job overseas?

Most developing countries are suffering from an increasingly severe nursing shortage. They simply are not training enough nurses each year to replace the nurses that are reaching retirement age. This is an immediate problem for countries which also have an aging population who are putting more strain on the health systems in those countries.

Countries like the USA, the UK, Australia and New Zealand all have a significant number of internationally educated nurses already working in their health systems. And there are still many vacancies that nursing recruiters are unable to fill!

If you are already a registered nurse at home, moving your nursing career overseas to any English speaking country is only limited by your ability to speak the language well enough to pass the required English language test. Similarly, if you are a qualified nurse who is fluent in a language other than English, Arabic or Cantonese for example – there are many nursing vacancies abroad in the United Arab Emirates or Singapore.

How do I get a job nursing abroad?

Each country has their own way of registering nurses. And nurses who want to nurse abroad in the United States, Australia or Canada face the added challenge of being required to register with the State Board of Nursing relevant to where they will be working as there is no nationwide system of nurse registration.

Generally speaking, you will have to:

* provide evidence of your nursing education

* provide evidence of your nursing license in the country you are currently working in

* provide evidence of your nursing experience, usually recommendation letters on official letterhead will be accepted

* provide evidence of your fluency in the official language of the country you are applying to register in

In the UK you’ll also have to take part in an Overseas Nursing Programme, and in the USA you’ll have to take either the NCLEX-RN exam, or the CGFNS exam… or both.

Finding information on how to register as an overseas nurse can be a lengthy process as much of the information is buried deep inside websites that are not dedicated to providing information to foreign nurses. You can find detailed, step-by-step instructions to moving your nursing career abroad in the Nursing-Overseas Ultimate Job Hunting System.

Do I need special qualifications?

Your nursing qualifications and any specialist training you have undertaken may not be the exact equivalent of what is required or offered of registered nurses in the country to which you are moving.

Most countries have a service you can use that will work out what your qualifications are equivalent to in their education system. For example, you can contact NARIC in the UK and they will check your qualifications against the UK standards and issue you a report.

Even if your qualifications do not transfer exactly, you will most likely be able to register as a general adult nurse. Once you are working in a nursing position overseas, you can explore whether you would like to upgrade your nursing qualifications by up-skilling in a new specialism.

2 Moving from an importer of advanced medicine to an exporterToday, 30 years after Korean nurses boarded a plane to learn about new techniques
and advances in medicine, the nurses of the National University of Singapore Hospital in Singapore,
a hub of Asian medicine, are going back home after completing their training in our hospital.

Korea has now become an exporter of advanced medicine. It is proof that the world recognizes
the quality of Koreas nursing care as well as the excellence of its medical practices.

The nurse training involved hands-on programs such as systemic care management
and emergency response, focusing on nursing practices in the field of organ transplant.

GERLY TINA GONZALES / Nurse of the National University of Singapore
We are very amazed about the process – how the nurses, the medical team work as a team,
work as a family. They are very courteous people, they’re very polite. Even though there is
a language barrier, we cannot understand so much, they are very helpful to go about our training
successfully.

TENG MING PEI, VALERIE / Nurse of the National University of Singapore Hospital
Here, they are doing liver transplant every day and it’s really an eye opening for me to learn
all the process and preceptors here are very, very nice.

The Organ Transplant Center received invitations from many overseas hospitals including those
in France, Germany, and the U.S.A. Last year alone, about 100 medical professionals took training
courses at the center to learn about the latest medical technology.
This greatly contributed to the enhancement of the global brand image of Asan Medical Center
and made our medical technology known to the world.

The organ transplant team consists of one senior nurse and 20 nurses.
They performed 326 liver transplants and 215 kidney transplants in 2008.

In particular, the nurses of the liver transplant team are multi-functioning nurses who can engage
in the entire process of organ transplantation. They have performed off-site surgeries to support
liver transplants conducted at other university hospitals in Korea and provided practical nursing
education.

The training for Singaporean nurses serves as an opportunity to prove the skills of our nurses
and raise the stature of Korean nurses in international medical circles.

2 Bestfriend Language and Culture Exchange Center (Seoul)The BestFriend Korean Language & Culture Exchange Center originally started as a branch off of the BestFriend International Volunteer Agency for Study in Korea. This organization was created to help foreigners interested in studying abroad in Korea. The concept of the BestFriend International Volunteer Agency originated from the positive experiences we(Mins) had studying abroad in Canada and Japan. I wanted to offer the same welcome and services to foreigners studying in Korea as those that we received while we were on study abroad. Thus, with the simple concept and passion of wanting to share the beauty of the Korean language and culture to the rest of the world, the BestFriend International Volunteer Agency was born.
