nursing requires hands on training and experience. afaik, there are no nursing programs run by American Universities that take place anywhere in Europe.
you’d have to be able to interact with the patients and that would require that either you speak their language fluently, or they be native speakers of English. Pretty much limits the possibilities, doesn’t it?
What do you think? Answer below!

Question by deedee: How can I (an American) look into getting a nursing job abroad (Latin America, Europe, etc.) ?
I am an experienced traveler who really would like to live abroad. I was a teacher in my previous career and am currently working on a nursing degree. I would like to work abroad, in the healthcare field, possibly with nongovernmental organizations, but am having a hard time finding any PAID employment–most are just volunteer opportunities. Does anyone know about nursing jobs abroad? I am nearly fluent in spanish and portuguese and would love to work somewhere that either of these languages are spoken—like Brasil!
I am also interested in longer term volunteer opportunities but would really love to make a big move and work abroad.
Oh, and also—does anyone know about Master’s degree programs in nursing or international health in foreign universities? I’d be interested in those too.
Thanks for any help!

First of all, there are some obvious mistakes in this video regarding Dutch and English. I am truly sorry for my Dutch pronounciation as well as my lack of proper English. My intentions are merely to get students interested in Study Abroad. This is the first addition of my video blog from Den Haag, NL.

On a side note, if anyone can tell me how to edit video clips from a Kodak camera, I would be extremely greatful. Thanks. I am learning new things everyday.

Studying abroad is when a student travels to a different nation in the search for academic opportunities. A number students relish the notion of studying overseas – business management, engineering sciences – or some other marketable skill overseas. This approach can have many advantages for a student and generally is appropriated towards for degree points to a postsecondary higher education, but a number of academic pupils who study abroad do so for the experience and not much for credit. Where study abroad Europe issues are involved, there are more or less overseas learning programs to choose from presently, contigent upon the subject the academic enrollees is leaning towards and on the favored country coal.
For example, if a enrollee seeks to learn abroad for aquatic biology, he or she will travel to a nation where hands-on training can be received. There are over 20 plus subjects a person can study abroad, as well as over 50 destinations a student can travel to. For example, a pupil from China who is interested in engineering can get into the Rochester Institute of Technology program in the US. Several course offerings offer various advantages such as university credit, scholarships, and internship to a number of organizations. People many times misapprehend students who study abroad with foreign exchange students, but there is a noticable distinction between the two. Many academies prefer their attendees to be involved with study abroad programs rather than student exchange programs because it is easier, since international programs are more flexible. A student exchange student on average does not earn credit and is for the most part there for the experience and in order to gain knowledge about the foreign language and culture.
For example, if a student in the US desired to learn French, he or she would exchange with an attendee from France who seeks to learn English. Many students who are a part of study abroad programs do it during the summer or some type of school break. It is very popular to go to to Europa-based countries such as Germany, Sweden, Holland, England and France. Of course the list is continuous, but most of these offer training, awards and grants. To find out more about study abroad programs in Europe, ask your nearby university for a directory of study abroad programs or even better start your search online at our no cost resource site. study abroad in Europe.

Europe is a continent of many contrasts. Home to a wide variety of beautiful countries and every climate you can imagine, it is a top location for students who want to travel for their education. When looking to study abroad, Europe should be a place to consider because there are simply so many different countries there with so many different things to offer. There is something for every type of student, from international law to culinary arts and everything in between.
Imagine walking cobblestone paths and viewing breathtaking architecture from ancient times, or learning how to cook real Italian food at a Tuscan villa. You could study international banking in Switzerland, or history in Prague. These are simply examples of what could be available to you. Another very popular reason students study abroad is to learn a language in order to teach it or become a translator. Studying language abroad is called immersion study, and is perhaps the best way to learn.
If you want to study abroad in Europe, speak with an advisor at your school who handles this issue. He or she can inform you of the available programs the university offers and which are recommended for your education and career goals. They can also help you with any financial aid or scholarship programs that are available to help with the cost of overseas study. There may also be grants for qualifying students who cannot afford to study in Europe without assistance.
Often when North American students travel to Europe for study programs, they stay at a University or college like dormitory with other students. There may be others from the United States who are taking the same program, they could be from your school or a school across the country from you. Studying abroad is a great way to not only learn about other cultures but to meet new friends you may keep in touch with for a lifetime.
The duration of study abroad Europe programs varies. There are full summer programs, semester programs and programs of other lengths available. No matter what you are majoring in at your university, there is most likely a study program in Europe that would enhance your education. Also, when future potential employers see that you studied abroad they may view you as a person with more ambition and world experience than other candidates who did not study abroad.

Short video entry for UCI’s Center for International Education video contest in response to the question: “Why study abroad?”
NOTE: All images and video used were from my actual experiences abroad throughout the South Pacific, Europe, and South America over the past 3 years. Only about half a dozen of these pictures were from the cameras of friends that were in the same programs abroad with me and from my sister’s trip abroad.
